Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics is the official journal of Bombay Orthopaedic Society and is
published twice a
year.
Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics is owned and managed under and published by Bombay Orthopaedic Society (BOS), and Indian Orthopaedic Research Group overlooks the publication.
Over the years, fifty-five to be exact, Bombay Orthopaedic Society (BOS) has grown into an
illustrious body, solely
devoted to Orthopaedics and its sub-specialities. It is being run by its members who are
dedicated to its cause with no
personal gains.
The Silver Jubilee Conference of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) which was held in
Mumbai in 1980, was a
feather in the cap of Mumbai orthopaedic surgeons. All strata of Orthopaedic Surgeons put in
their hearts and hard work
to make this conference a big success. Even today, after more than forty years, it is considered
a gold standard for
conference organization from the social, managerial and academic perspectives.
Bombay Orthopaedic Society (BOS) along with Maharashtra Orthopaedic Association (MOA) had
organized the Golden Jubilee
Conference of the IOA in Mumbai in the year 2005. The organisers had made it a memorable
conference for all the
attendees.
2015 was a landmark year for the Bombay Orthopaedic Society (BOS) as it celebrated its 50th year
of existence and also
conducted the Golden Jubilee ‘WIROC Grande’ 2015.
The Bombay Orthopaedic Society (BOS) now has the Privilege to conduct the 65th Conference of the
Indian Orthopaedic
Association, IOACON 2020 in Mumbai in conjunction with its state chapter.
Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics will publish research in the field of Orthopaedics, Shoulder and Elbow Surgery including aetiopathology, clinical and radiographic outcomes, surgical technique and implant design, biomechanics, biomaterials, and Congenital disorders.
Open access refers to the practice of making peer-reviewed scholarly research and literature freely available online to anyone interested in reading it at no cost and with limited restrictions with regards to reuse. Open access publications are freely and permanently available online to anyone with an internet access. The journal allows unrestricted use, distribution and reproduction in any medium (which is non-commercial), provided the article is properly attributed. All the articles are published, without any technical, financial, gender limitations, in an agreed format on the journal website and deposited in archive and indexing databases as applicable to the journal. All articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), thereby making it fully citable and searchable by title, author name(s) and the full text.
Restricted access to scientific research and advancements through subscription pay wall hinders
communication within
the scientific community. Moreover, restricted access can also hinder the education and
dissemination of scientific
knowledge to the aspiring younger generations who are keen to pursue a career in science.
Increased productivity and
development of science can only be achieved by diffusing knowledge and providing the facilities
for creating
permanent repositories such as Open Access.
The use of a Creative Commons 4.0 License (CC-BY-NC 4.0) enables user/reader/peer to use the
content with clear
permission in a way that it can be reused and redistributed as long as the article source is
appropriately given
credit for non-commercial purpose.
